Rap + Rock= hmmmm

Anyone who knows me knows that I can get lost in rappers music. Sometimes i just twist up what they rap about and twist it up to make it fit my situation and what im going through. Breaking down and analyizing every lyric, its just what I do. People who know me also know I'm not a fan of rock music... I guess I am just closed minded on this type of music, its just not for me. But, I was with my boys and we were riding and my boy told me he had something for me to listen to. My friend is favorite band is Dave Matthews, and he knows my favorite rapper is Jay-Z well he had found a mix tape that was the best of both worlds; Jay-Z on DMB beats. So I'm listening to it and just notice that it is really relaxing.. So right now I'm just digging the whole rap + rock thing...

Higher Level Thinking
I know everyone is trying figure out what is this about, who does this guy think he is lol. Well I’m a modern day philosopher lol but no seriously, Higher Level Thinking is something I thought of to describe my thought process. I don’t know that many higher level thinkers but I mean I have probably told you if you were.
Higher Level Thinking:
1. Learning from every experience
2. Being able to sympathize and empathize
3. Being able to make sense of a situation
4. Being able to incorporate past experiences in your life in a positive way
5. Being able to learn from others’ experiences
6. Comprehension and understanding deep thoughts expressed by other people
7. Not being molded by what others think
So don’t hate on it just try and elevate your thinking… Its not my fault I can do this it’s a blessing and a curse because I am often misunderstood, because people don’t understand.

Wow Drake is a problem, he has shades of Lil Wayne you can tell he is a Young Money artists but, his punch lines are nasty! And He is even telling a little story in this song, this song is definitely making it on to the IPOD. I found this song on my secret website it keeps me updated on the HOTTEST shit out... But his album "So Far Gone" should be hot I listened to a few tracks from there he's legit!

Music Is My Drug

Jay-Z, T.I., Kanye, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, how can one possibly say “Hip-Hop” is dead. Honestly Hip-Hop has just evolved, but then again it always has its nothing new. I agree with T.I. on the song “Swagger Like Us” he says “You go see Weezy for the wordplay, Jeezy for the birdplay and me controversy” and of course Jay-z who is the king of Hip-Hop what else do you want. The game is well rounded right now you have everything from dance music to real shit you can feel. There is a song for everything for every mood every situation. People wonder why rappers who don’t rap about much have a fan base and its simply because people who are in the same position as them identify with them and feel their music. That is all Hip-Hop has been! Sometimes I just sit back and really try and listen and break down the lyrics of the artists and a lot of artists today still have some deep thoughts you just have to be able to break it down. I can go back to the past and find music that is equally fulfilling. Hip-Hop is a release for me to hear the stories these people have to tell to be able to just say damn I know what it is like to be in that situation. I could listen to Jay-Z all day!!!! But I like to hear new artists too everyone is always looking for the next big thing. I mean you figure we know Wayne is ill (but he may be playing himself out), Kanye gives you the shit you can just feel it is normally deep and different. But now you have hot new artist like Drake (young money) but I’m sure many of you probably heard the song “I Love College” by Asher Roth, and to college kids that song is the shit because we identify with that. But no Asher Roth can really rap I heard him on “Change Gon Come” which also features Charles Hamilton and B.O.B its hot. So there are definitely great things to look forward to in the music world.

Love

Love is the craziest thing. It is the only thing in this world that can have one feeling on the top of the world, and also at the bottom of the bottom. There are certain things about this mystical energy that are not meant to be understood. The only thing one can do to not be in this never ending pit is to be careful and protect oneself. The problem with that is we are not being fair to ourselves or to the people we may eventually get involved with. So the ultimate question is who is more important is, who do I stay loyal to myself or that person I may get involved with? Do you protect yourself by holding back from that person, by pre-judging and holding that person responsible for what has happened to you in the past. The only way you can to do both is by being careful and taking it slow. You have to know and be sure that you want to be committed to that person, by doing so you now eliminate all excuses and can give yourself to that person. A relationship goes nowhere if one is not willing to give his or her self to that person. When taking your time you have to truly get to know that person and even then you have to be careful to pick-up on the hints that the other person is giving you that the person they are presenting you with may be fake. You have to make sure that the person is going to at least match your intensity, you cannot put in all your effort and allow this person to get away with putting in anything less than you put it .Getting into a relationship is like going into a war, you are going to have some people on your side, but the focus is trying to make it through the war without dying. If you are in a relationship and you are happy expect for people to try and change that because they are envious and wish it were them. Even after taking it slow you still must be very careful if your boyfriend or girlfriend messes up in the relationship you cannot just instantly forgive them even if you want to. Doing this shows the person that there are no consequences for their actions and this will eventually lead to more of the same behavior. If they mess up you must let them know it will not be tolerated, when you do this they will realize that they cannot act that way. But don’t interpret that has to go and be an asshole, you have to be understanding, and forgiving at the same time because no one is perfect and you should never expect that, you will be let down 100% of the time guaranteed. Another behavior to be very mindful of is hypocrisy, this will definitely tare a relationship apart, don’t expect your person to do or not to do certain things when you are out doing the same thing or even worse. If you are going to expect something from that person you should do the same thing. Lying is also something that should not be tolerated, because we are going into this relationship as a forgiving and understanding person one should never feel the need to lie, especially to someone you love because chances are they are going still love you regardless, they may be or seem to be the maddest person in the world but love doesn’t just fade in the air. If the person does lie to you then they do not respect you, and on the other hand if they confront you about something they did understand how much it took for that person to do that. Granted it doesn’t change the fact that the deed was done but the fact that the person told you should tell you that they do care about you. Because still most people in this world today are not going to do that, most people live by the motto "what they don’t know won’t hurt them", so a person who does tell the truth is special. Of course they still have to be shown consequences it is the right thing to do, they have to know it’s not acceptable. Sometimes as people we get wrapped up in what people say yes hearing that someone loves you is very nice. It gives you a certain level of comfort but, a person’s actions are should be the deciding factor when determining whether or not the person actually does love and care for you like they say they do. At the end of the day love is very confusing and you have to be very careful because it can put you in the bottom of the bottom, it is very important that after having a bad experience that if you are a good person to stay that way, one day someone will appreciate it one day.

P.S. – You maybe asking yourself how do I know this or what gives me the right to right this, I have been on top of the world and I have been to the bottom… I am not trying to scare anyone from being in love I am just telling you to be careful. Love is a good thing and everyone should experience it, but it should just be in the right way.
